Great post. I'm particularly impressed with my Zebra f-701. Great pen. What's that belt?

The zebra f107 is a great pen. Nice belt to. I've been looking for new webbing belt that can work with the jeans and the khakis. Amazing post as always.

the belt is an old USN web belt. Got it at a Army/Navy Surplus shop in TN. And yeah, the Zebra is indeed a great pen. Not quite the perfect "click" of the Parker Jotter, but nice none the less.

James,
Would that army/navy store be Friedman's in Nashville? Glad to see you embrace the Zebras, they are great pens for work that you always try ask to get back when loaned, but won't get you too broken up if they get away.

Friedman's. Yes. It's kinda gone way down hill since my younger days growing up in Nashville, but there are still some good things to be had there.

I can't get over how great those Authentics look with the Kiwi laces. It's such a subtle change that really affects the style of the shoe.

thanks man. I am a bit of a compulsive lace changer. I change out the laces in most all of my shoes. It's a really easy, subtle way of personalizing your kicks. (I have leather boot laces in my white authentics.) I'm the same way with NATO watch bands. subtle changes...

where can i find a key clip like the one pictured next to your timex?

james said...

the brass spring clip can be found at any local hardware store.

where is the gold keychain clasp thing from?

I agree with you totally about the lace changing, especially with vans. I noticed a girl one time on the bus that used ribbon for laces on her authentics.

what camera is that?

Anonymous said...

I love chambray shirts built like dress shirts. Where was this one from?

Great stuff.

shirt is from Odin. Camera is an old Canon Canonet 28 picked up 12 years ago at a thrift store in Louisville, KY. Takes the greatest photos.

i have a little knurled brass ring like the one on your keychain. I am trying to remember what it came off of?

What kind of handlebars are you using?

Great Post.

bars are from Velo Orange. Nitto Montmartre. narrow. 42cm, center to center. Very nice.

Love the shoes and the laces! Are those authentics blue aster/true white? If not, do you know what Vans' calls that color?

james said...

Just your standard navy authentics.

looks like they've dissected you from head to toe...

I have the cannonet 28 too but i haven't taken any pictures yet! what are they like?

your bike looks nice. is that a bianchi pista you painted over? any tips on how it went, I'm tiring of the all chrome logoed as well.

james said...

as stated above, it's a LeMond Alpe D'Huez, de-stickered. It's not a Bianchi, although I did pick that frame/fork up a few years back.

did you really get the watch band that is on your timex from jcrew or was the link just for reference? I love the combo and would like it for myself.
I lost my watch and its been driving me crazy not having one...( i only had one working watch) so i have been looking for something to replace it with.
what do you think of the timex easy reader compared to the timex dress strap you have pictured?

cheers!!
