Good Day to Dye : The Hill-Side for Koninginnedag.


Koninginnedag, or Queen's Day, a national day of saamhorigheid, is being celebrated in the Netherlands today. Our man Sandy Corsillo from the Hill-Side is in Amsterdam and in preparation for his trip, hand-dyed Hill-Side white selvedge the traditional orange worn by revelers. Done on a recent warm spring day on the roof of Hickoree's HQ in Brooklyn. God Speed, Sandy.

Cultural icon, he of TV Party, the style guy, personal hero Glenn O'Brien(whom I had the very good fortune of selling a vintage chore jacket to at this past Pop-Up Flea) gives Life&Times a look at the art hanging in his home and talks style as only the style guy can. R.I.P. Tim Hetherington.


Hetherington, 'a conflict photographer who was a director and producer of the Afghan war documentary “Restrepo,” was killed in the besieged city of Misurata, Libya, on Wednesday, and three photographers working beside him were wounded, one fatally, when they came under fire at the city’s front lines. Chris Hondros of the Getty Images photo agency died later of devastating brain trauma. Guy Martin, who was filing photographs to the Panos agency, suffered a severe pelvic wound.The fourth photographer, Michael Christopher Brown, suffered shrapnel wounds to his left shoulder, but his life was not in danger.'
