R.I.P. Tim Hetherington.


Hetherington, 'a conflict photographer who was a director and producer of the Afghan war documentary “Restrepo,” was killed in the besieged city of Misurata, Libya, on Wednesday, and three photographers working beside him were wounded, one fatally, when they came under fire at the city’s front lines. Chris Hondros of the Getty Images photo agency died later of devastating brain trauma. Guy Martin, who was filing photographs to the Panos agency, suffered a severe pelvic wound.The fourth photographer, Michael Christopher Brown, suffered shrapnel wounds to his left shoulder, but his life was not in danger.'

  3. i had heard of these casualties but did not know it was the director of restrepo. amazing film. i can't comprehend all that is happening in the world right now. this may be sort of ignorant, but was any of the seeming domino of civil unrest tipped by the wikileaks incident? it seemed this wave sort of took off right after all of that data was released. school/work make it so i only half hear everything. maybe this is already being discussed?

    Hetherington was a true talent.
    support out troops, but bring them home.
