The Roebling Bridge (aka the Delaware Aqueduct) over the Delaware River connecting Lackawaxen in Pike county Pa to Sullivan County NY is actually the oldest wire suspension bridge in the U.S. - it was commissioned in 1847 and open on April 26, 1849.
