great stuff. i had those herringbone vans, loved em...my dog loved em more. you know if they're still available?
i like it all. the first fake coffee cup is just brilliant.
love the herringbone Californias. Shoulda got two pairs. Don't think I've seen em anywhere as of late. Bows & Arrows in Berkley always has a nice selection.
Cool. Do you own all of these?
Love the color and cut of those Left Fields but my butt isn't meant for them. :/
james, any advice on where i can find a sturdy/minimal keychain and bottle opener? love the blog man, great post
nice to see that you're posting the usual. Not some bandwagon jumping euroitaliantailoring
This is a very beautiful, evocative post. I have to wonder, any chance Left Field might make women's canvas khakis any time soon? Or at least provide us with equivalent women's sizing? I am almost certain those 29s would still be too big for a woman who wears a J. Crew 4 or 6, but I can hope. Men's tailoring works pretty well on me, men's sizes, not so much. *sigh*
HOME RUN!
LPC, not sure about Left Field doing women's in the near future(perhaps Christian could confirm), but as they state, the chinos are not vanity sized(as J.Crew does). I would think that a Left Field 28 might indeed work with a little tailoring. Good luck.
Yes, this is the way I dress and yes, these are my clothes.
Thank you. I suppose if they just didn't fit I could always give them to my skinny son.
Hey LPC,
The LF sizing runs small in the waist. The actual measurement is about .5 less than the tag size. So a size 30 is actually closer to 29, a 29 closer to 28, etc. And, ff they don't work for you, the brand has a generous return policy.
I think you have the best taste of the whole current menswear blogger scene. Your styling reminds me of early (2005ish) Engineered Garments lookbook - as in you go for a great, dressed-down, relaxed everyday look, but with a bit of eccentricity and great materials. The color mix is also nice.
What I am basically saying is "Don't change". No disrespect to Daiki and EG, but a lot of his later stuff is bordering on the costume-y. Makes sense for a brand that crosses over to the fashion world, but he lost a bit of the "great shirt and sweatshirt over it" relaxedness.
Granted, this comes from a guy who thinks of menswear as an interest exclusive to douches, and can't stand any outfit that looks "put together". I am looking at you, Ry'on!
I need to try out those Left Field Chinos. I've only heard great things about them.
Sangsouvanh Khounvichit, I highly recommend you doing so.
BilloBallo, wow. Thanks. Glad you dig the site and what I put on it. Always a rad thing to hear from people who connect to something they find on SFs. Huge thanks and hope you keep coming back.
