The Fight that Almost Was: Ali vs. Chamberlain, 1971.

On the Subject of: Adolescent Interests.

I think if you were to ask me at age 7 or 8 or so what it was I wanted to be when I grew up, what I might study in college, my answer would certainly have included the word "ninja" in it at least 3 or 4 times.
I know the knuckles and switchblade aren't very ninja, but I liked those too.

The Hangover: Mike Carroll + Lakai.

Skateboard filming has certainly come a long way since I was watching bootlegged copies of The Search for Animal Chin.

Bright Girls Should Know This: How to Change a Flat.

I recently had one of those moments when you come across something only to suddenly remember that someone, sometime ago over some number of beers has told you about it. Duh. Coming across How to Change a Flat is one such "duh" moment. Angela, whom I've met a few times, runs a blog that feels to me, counterpart to Secret Forts, and from a whip-smart female perspective. Not sure how Angela would respond to that, kindly I hope, but needless to say, it's something both bright girls and boys alike should know.

First Watch on the Moon: The Omega Speedmaster Professional.

Apollo 11. The Eagle landed July 20th, 1969. Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were the first men on the moon. They wore the Omega Speedmaster Professional.

On the Subject of: Seasonality, Process, Authenticity, etc.

This time of year, more than any other, I get into cooking. Perhaps because there's so much time spent indoors, the hibernation that occurs, winter vegetables and seasonal dishes, the Holiday meals, whatever it may be...I recently ran across these videos. I am hibernating with fry pan and Santoku in hand.

"I honestly believe that people of my generation despise authenticity, mostly because they're all so envious of it."
-Chuck Klosterman

Iconic: Bjorn & John.

On the Subject of Inclement Weather:

Having recently written about the Bean Boot for Sartorially Inclined, I thought I might post two videos pertaining to the subject at hand.
Surely, you've seen one, the other or both, but with the amount of icey, gray slush in New York (and elsewhere) presently that you've either to jump, circumnavigate or trod through, the videos seem apt enough.
enjoy and keep dry.

Head to Toe: It's Now Winter in New York.

New York got it's first snow of the season and though it wasn't quite the storm of the century, there's surely more to come. Be Prepared and look good getting to where you're going.
