First Look: Baldwin, F'10 Collection.

I met Matt Baldwin a little while back at the Ace Hotel here in the city and we immediately hit it off. Matt's been all over the map but settled down in Kansas City(the city of fountains) and since, has been busy establishing himself as a true creative, multi-tasking force of nature in the Mid-West and beyond. Having started out as a legit denim line with a strong following, in just a short time Baldwin has now, with Fall '10, evolved beyond just denim, growing to include the key pieces that round out the discerning man's wardrobe.

Shirting in classic fabrics like chambray, gingham and oxford cloth, a blazer, pants with the same perfect fit as the denim range, accessories(ties, a KC fitted cap and a waxed canvas weekender in which to pack it all up), and a shoe in collaboration with Esquivel of California. Each of the pieces is as straight forward and wearable as the denim and all easily and cohesively work together. It's well made, subtly detailed, sharp yet hard-wearing, clean, classic and modern.
Designed in Kansas City and all made in the US, Baldwin is a red-blooded American line for the red-blooded American man, designed by a red-blooded American man. That's a perfect storm of effortless style. I'm very pleased to introduce the Baldwin Fall '10 line.
Keep an eye out for the full Fall line, available in the coming week or so at Mortar and Stag in Houston and Austin, respectively, Wharf Clothing in RI, and of course, Standard Style in KC. Also, check out Denim Debate to follow Daniel Cummings and the life cycle of his Baldwin 77's.

  4. Strong showing. I see they are branching out from their dry denim into a few washes. Any new styles/fits of their denim other than the Reed, 77 and Henley?

I'm curious to see the price points these pieces as well.

    Great post, James.
