I think if you were to ask me at age 7 or 8 or so what it was I wanted to be when I grew up, what I might study in college, my answer would certainly have included the word "ninja" in it at least 3 or 4 times.
I know the knuckles and switchblade aren't very ninja, but I liked those too.
Great post James. Brngs back memeories. I had throwing stars, Bruce Lee posters, Balisong butterfly knives, nunchucks, tonfa's, etc. For a while, all my paper route money went to my martial arts arsenal. One martial arts weapon that I still think is one of the coolest and best designed is the aircraft aluminum Hide-A-Chuck. It starts off as a light weight baton but once twisted turns into pair of nunchucks.

ReplyDeleteThat kid right there loved this post.
I love this post. Not fashion but definitely stylish like a ninja.
ReplyDeleteAhh man, I think every kid growin up in the 80s had the Ninja/martial arts obsession. I remember reading Black Belt magazine and obsessing about being good with num chucks. Don't forget all the ninja movies that came out in the 80s like Revenge of the Ninja.
