In the Details: MAKR's Mark.

Jason from MAKR Carry Goods, until now known mostly for their handmade small carry goods, sent me some images of the designing and sampling of their upcoming, expanded full range of bags. With the expansion of the line and larger demand and quantity, MAKR has turned over some of the production to a local factory a few hours drive from their own studio. From their site, "We used to do it all ourselves – the sewing and assemblage of all Carry Goods – here in the studio. But that just doesn't make sense logistically for some of the larger product. Now, after each item is designed and prototyped in our studio, we drive two hours over to a family-owned factory where production samples are made. We then work with them to refine the processes, forms and finishes in order to create a product that's as high quality as it is efficiently made." As for the upcoming line of bags, the site notes, "We're currently working with a Japanese distribution company to design and produce a full set of bags for their market, a country that is a constant inspiration for us. It's been both a privilege and a challenge marked by quite a few breakthroughs along the way. These new bags, although intended for the Japanese market, will be available in the US as well as select shops around the globe." With the deserved following MAKR has generated in only a short while, you'll be sure to hear about it when it happens.

  4. Good looks on this.

Jason is a great guy, and I can't wait to see more of the new items MAKR is putting out.

The utility tote they did with Assembly is great.

  5. Don, they don't state it on their website but I'm pretty sure their studio is based in Florida. When I received my wallet from them the package was sent from Florida.
